    Robert Fisher

    1784

    No2. October 29. 1784

Robert Fisher. at 16 a Shoe maker, of a pale & leucophlegmatic habit, complains of a severe pain in his head which is accompanied with stupor & vertigo. He is troubled also with a frequent sensation of cold over his whole body, which is sometimes succeeded by a hot stage.

Belly regular appetite much impaired. Pulse 140.

Three weeks ago he was first attacked with the above symptoms. Those which first appeared were the pain of head & stupor

The stupidity at length arose to such a height that he scarcely could discern what he was doing

To these in a short time after succeeded vertigo & the other febrile symptoms. The paroxysms have no fixed or determinate time of attack, but he is alternately seized through the day with hot & cold fits. He says however that the present complaint has not been much aggravated since its commencement. No cause is assigned for this affection. He has taken no other medicine but a vomit, which was administered, on Sunday last.
