Christian Stuart at 7. Has a slight swelling of her belly not discoloured & without any evident fluctuation. She has a short tickling cough returning two or three times in the day. It continues about ten minutes at a time & is attended with a sense of suffocation in her throat. She is then free from it for two or three days & it returns again exactly in the same form. During the fits her face is flushed & florid. At other times she is pale & low spirited. Appetite pretty good. Belly natural Ten weeks ago she lost her appetite, was low spirited & frequently sick. These symptoms continued till she discharged a worm of the lumbricus kind. She then grew better & continued so for a fortnight when her present disease supervened. She knows no cause for her complaints. Cap. om. m. & vesp. Pulv. Sem Santon. Ji. nec non sumat [mane] die Jovis Pulv. Jalap. comp. ℥ p. April 3d. Took the Semen Santonica as directed, & the purgative afterwards which operated briskly. But no worms have been observed to be discharged.
