    Christian Bell

    1784

    No37. March 18th 1784

Christian Bell at 32 complains of pain & distension of her stomach attended with acid eructations. She is frequently affected during the day with pains in each temple & in the back part of her head attended with giddiness & dimness of sight. During this time her eyes are observed to be much agitated. She is subject also to lowness of spirits & has two or three times in the day the sense of a ball rising from her stomach to her throat. It remains there a considerable time & affects her breathing & spirits, it afterwards ceases gradually.

Since the commencement of her ailments she has had several children & her menses have been more abundant than natural during that period. During the late frost, she was seized every day or every second day with universal tremblings & the fingers of both hands were drawn inwards. Pulse about 80 & weak. Appetite bad, Belly natural.
