    Lewis Baine at 65 a barber

    The palpebrae & tunica conjunctiva of his left eye, are considerably inflamed, & very painful attended with great heat & intolerance of light. He complains also of pain in the forepart of his head. There is a small opaque speck upon the cornea which in some degree impairs his sight.

    Pulse appetite & thirst natural. Belly rather bound. The affection of his eye commenced ten days ago. He can assign no cause for it. He has used the solution Saturnina as a collyrium & has taken the crystals of Tartar with advantage.
