    No10th May 29. 1783.

Margaret Sprots. at 60 complains of severe pain at times in the left haunch & in the left ankle with a shaking through the whole left thigh & leg. The complaints are constantly removed by walking & by the warmth of her bed & are renewed by sitting & by the application of cold. She has no similar affection of the left arm.

Pulse 76 Tongue whitish but moist. Belly regular. Appetite thirst & sleep natural.

The complaints began in the winter with a cramp in her leg & attended with a sensation of extreme cold. She has for some days been taking Valerian & she thinks with advantage.
