Alexander Stewart at 46, a flax dresser1 has been for 15 years past during the winter season, subjected to Dyspnoea, at present the Dyspnoea is gone, but he has a very severe dry cough attended with pain in the thorax. Appetite good, sleeps well pulse 74 Belly regular. Within these few weeks past he is much emaciated. He has of late used no medicines. He has formerly been blistered. Cap. Pulv. Ipecac Ji. pro Emet nec non sumat Pil Scillit gr V om. m. & vesp. 24. The vomit operated well & he has taken the pills regularly, which however have had no obvious operation. But his cough & pain of breast are very much relieved. Appetite good belly regular. Cont. Pil. u. a. 31 He thinks that the pills have some effect both in opening his belly & increasing the quantity of his urine, but the change is not considerable. All his symptoms are however very much diminished. Cont. Pil. u. a. June 7th Is free from all his symptoms Let him be dismissed.
