    DEP/DUA/1/28/30 (Normalised version)

    John McDonald

    (1781-1782)

    John McDonald.

    This patients complaint evidently Catarrh.

But was here suspicious of tendency to Phthisis.

And did not I own expect that should soon have been able to dismiss patient free from affection.

Have however in this respect been agreeably disappointed.

And even inclined to think that this in some degree effect of medicines employed.

Directed for him mucilaginous mixture with view of taking off irritation at fauces.

But as means of giving determination from lungs in way of diuresis added Dulcified Spirit of Nitre.

    From this considerably [diminished] indeed

And at last report all symptoms so far relieved that reckoned farther continuation unnecessary – And hope that unless from accident will now have no farther return of affection
