    DEP/DUA/1/26/06 (Normalised version)

    Binny Robertson

    (1780)

    Binny Robertson.

From history appears affected with many different symptoms.

And matter of great doubt how far all these connected with each other.

Here principal part of symptom evidently indicates affection of alimentary canal.

To this can have no difficulty in referring pain of stomach & borborygmi

And probably former as well as latter to be considered as effect of flatulence.

To this cause also must refer eructation giving temporary relief to patient

These symptoms unquestionably produced by various circumstances.

But can conceive them ultimately to depend only on one of two causes.

Either increase of power tending to generation of wind, or diminishment of that power which in ordinary health tends to prevent.
