    Grizel Robertson

    (1780-1781)

Of case of Grizel Robertson our patient for Taenia, formerly spoke at very considerable length.

Shall not now resume any [observations] either with regard to Fern powder or other medicines employed.

May only observe that last medicine used with this Patient was Camphor in substance & to considerable extent.

From this however no large [fragments] particularly, no filum or thread brought away.

And although for space of week before ordered medicine to be intermitted, no [fragments] observed, yet could not look upon her as cured.

Especially as still affected not only with Vertigo but also with pains in stomach & bowels which consider as immediately proceeding from presence of worms

Mentioned however intention of intermitting medicine from different considerations till farther evidence of presence by [actual] discharge

Such an occurrence however has not yet taken place

For had opportunity of seeing this patient few days ago, & find that has discharged no fragments since saw her last.

Health also in every respect better & neither affected with pains of stomach belly or vertigo.

At same time very far from [illegible] it as cured by Camphor.

For in consequence of use no large fragments or head brought away.

And on former occasions patient has already had similar remissions.
