    DEP/DUA/1/25/29 (Normalised version)

    Christian Donaldson

    (1780-1781)

Christian Donaldson, has not been subject of practice here since last spoke of her, but have seen her very frequently at her own house.

Her case when came under care considered as distinctly marked instance of Fluor Albus.

But when last spoke of her a set of symptoms had occurred which not at least common in that affection.

Was at loss to think whether these to be ascribed to accidental intermission, or to sudden stop of discharge to which had been long accustomed although morbid.

For to be observed that in consequence of use of Lime water, Leucorrhoea very suddenly left her.

At that time rather disposed to former opinion.

Now however very clearly of latter.

And affords strong proof of caution necessary in obstructing any discharge to which system long accustomed.

For here from sudden check to Leucorrhoea whether consequence of Lime water or not febrile symptoms & these too of alarming nature induced.

These symptoms indeed soon yielded to gentle treatment

Yet that were consequence of obstruction to Leucorrhoea evidently apparent from regular [recurrence] for some time, after every menstrual period when that discharge used before to take place in great abundance.

Now however without any return of Leucorrhoea has got entirely rid of these also.
