    DEP/DUA/1/25/25 (Normalised version)

    Dugald McFie

    (1780-1781)

Dugald McFie whose case distinct instance of Epilepsy still continues to attend

When last spoke of him was on use of Cuprum Ammoniala from which expected some benefit.

After several different trials however at length obliged to desert it.

For although at times borne with ease, yet on particular occasions gave not only sickness but considerable vomiting & looseness

While at same time as was indeed to be expected with such [op] little influence as diminishing frequency of fits.

Have now, as formerly mentioned put him upon trial of Zinc.

And since began use of fits less frequent.

But how far will be attended with any permanent advantage dare not venture to say.

At same time must observe that am inclined to attribute to it present mitigation of affection.
