    Euphan Preston

    (1779-1780)


    In case of Euphan Preston, an obstinate diarrhoea had thoughts of trying Simarouba if could have obtained it of good quality.

    At least suggested this measure provided should be found that Succus Japonica on which had at first put patient unsuccessful.

    Could not however be procured in such condition, as to give fair trial.

    Hence then was obliged to have recourse to other measures.

    For here so far at least disappointed in expectation, that succus japonica of itself, sufficient for complete cure.

    Still however manifestly appeared from whole progression of case, that influence very considerable.

    Thought it however advisable to have recourse to an astringent more immediately acting on diseased part.

    With this intention employed the decoction [illegible ] Soon complete cure
