    DEP/DUA/1/16/18 (Normalised version)

    Susan Paul

    (1777-1778)

Case of Susan Paul considered as being an affection of Nervous kind & as example of Catalepsy Vermin.

And I think afforded us example of efficacy of injection of lime water in cure of Ascarides.

Of this indeed reports in our register1 do not furnish that convincing evidence which could be wished.

Yet this much certain that although worms not obviously discharged in greater quantity, after use of injection disappointed, & patient no longer affected with fits.

    Explanatory notes:

    1) References are made throughout the case notes to a dispensary patient register. However, no evidence has been found that this register survives.
