
Steve O'Neill has worked at local, regional and national levels as a director of communications and engagement in the UK health system. He has been deputy head of the England's National Clinical Governance Support Team (NCGST) and has acted as the director of communications for both the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) and also East Midlands Strategic Health Authority (EMSHA).
He has undertaken projects on behalf of England's Chief Medical Officer, interim senior management projects during periods of strategic change, and acts as a communications consultant to leaders and senior teams in the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS) system and voluntary sector. Steve has worked as part of governance review teams within other organisations, on reviews of a range of health and charitable/voluntary sector bodies.
He is a qualified coach, and has been a member of various boards - in the health and voluntary sectors. His first degree was in communications and he also has a masters from the University of Birmingham. His early career was in video production, followed by a move to corporate communications - working for a time , for the largest local authority in Europe.
