Harm from falls and fear of falling affect large numbers of people both directly and indirectly, having a significant impact on wellbeing and prevent many people from experiencing healthy ageing.

The Scottish Government have worked with a range of stakeholders and colleagues to develop a draft strategy. The aim has been to create a culture of partnership in which everyone takes collective action, maximising and respecting the contribution of all partners.

The College agrees that the strategy could improve services, but it will require significant investment in the workforce, in training and in relevant resources.
