The Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK is pleased to announce that for 2017 fees for all parts of the MRCP(UK) diploma and Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) enrolment will continue at their current level.

For the fourth consecutive year, fees have been frozen for the three parts of the MRCP(UK) Diploma examination and fees for those junior physicians enrolling their UK core medical and specialty training posts with the JRCPTB.  This, combined with the 23% reduction for the Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) fees introduced earlier in 2016, demonstrates the Federation’s commitment to a continual review of costs while investing and driving improvement in academic quality and support for physicians in the UK and internationally. This includes access to the CPD diary as a benefit of collegiate membership.

The Federation has taken this decision acknowledging the current financial pressures affecting many in the UK healthcare system and ensuring that it continues to fulfil its aim to keep the examinations and training affordable for all candidates and trainee physicians.

Dr Katherine Walesby, Chair of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh’s Trainees and Members’ Committee, said:

“This freeze in fees for the fourth year is most welcome. I am pleased that the Federation recognises the many pressures that exist on trainees as they embark on - continue to progress through - their careers.”
