Appointed to Council to represent the Faculty of Public Health in June 2017.

Mark graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1992 and trained in general practice in the Scottish Borders. Following a post as a District Medical Officer in the Caribbean, he returned to the UK to train in public health medicine.

Appointed NHS Consultant in Public Health Medicine in 2005, he led the public health intelligence and public health support for the commissioning of health services for Peterborough PCT.

In 2012, he was appointed Consultant in Public Health Medicine/Programme Director at the PHG Foundation, Cambridge and Director in October 2017. He is also Chair of the NICE Diagnostics Advisory Committee.
