Dr Lesley Dawson is an elected member of Council representing Lothian, Fife and Borders.

She graduated from Edinburgh University in 1991. After completing her training, Lesley was appointed as Consultant in Medical Oncology in 2003 with a specialist interest in gastrointestinal cancers. She is based at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre but has a weekly clinic at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Her interest is medical education and training. She was the Scottish Training Programme Director for Medical Oncology and module lead for the oncology module at the University of Edinburgh before taking on the role of Associate Director for Medical Education for the Western General Hospital in 2015. Having been involved in the MRCP(UK) SCE in Medical Oncology since its inception, she is a member of the Exam Board and chairs the Question Writing Group.

Lesley has been involved with the College since being secretary of the Trainees and Collegiate Members' Committee before taking on the role of  joint Social Convenor.
