Dr Charles Bruce BSc (Hons), MBBS, MBA, AKC.

Dr Bruce is an experienced Chief Executive, Executive Director and Clinical Leader with a strong track record at Board level in operational and performance management systems, integrated governance, strategy, system transformation and team development. Dr Bruce has a track record of significant achievements in service improvement and innovative solutions across the healthcare environment. Over the last eight years, Dr Bruce has work with challenged Organisations, specialties/clinical services and clinical teams. These include engaging clinical leaders in solving behavioural, performance/clinical delivery and financial challenges which have impacted on the quality of care provided; creating and enabling multi-professional leadership teams to raise clinical standards; engaging hospital clinical leaders in a whole-system approach to integrated and out of hospital care; confronting and dealing with poor practice at both an organisational and individual level.  Broad themes of his career have been strategic and operational capability; focus on quality, integrated governance, performance, and delivery; Integration with education and translational research programmes and supporting the workforce through change; with a strong sense of accountability. Dr Bruce’s interests have focussed on facilitating improved patient care including developing individual, team and organisational resilience; and the importance of addressing team conflict. Dr Bruce has held senior positions in Acute Teaching Hospitals, Academic Health Science Systems, National Clinical Governance Board team, Acute Hospitals, Health Education England and CLARCH for West London.
