Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

Are you interested in improving the quality of healthcare and population health and wellbeing across the world?

If so, why not join our new digital Steering group as an advisor on a voluntary basis.

Purpose

The College is keen to ensure that RCPE has an appropriate digital strategy that is fit for the future. As a globally focused charitable organisation with over 40% of its membership located beyond the boundaries of the UK, including a growing number in digitally developing nations, there is an even greater need for the College to connect, engage and enthuse its global RCPE community to work collectively to improve the quality of healthcare and population health and wellbeing across the world. Our ability to use data and digital systems, develop analytical and digital skills, and see the world of health education, training and quality management, as well as being a patient, through a data and digital lens will feature as a key aspect of this new strategy. A key deliverable will be improved data/analytics to inform future work.

To enable us to achieve our goals we commissioned a Digital Review and e-learning platform analysis to support improvements in our ambition to be a digital driven international membership organisation. The RCPE Council has agreed the need for swift action and an agile response to the Review. 2. Ensuring analytical data meets the needs of the College for future planning and Quality Assurance.
  3. Making recommendations for the budget required to start the digital transformation over the next 3 years.
  4. Planning the re design of the website and associated platforms to create a presence that is leading edge with content which clearly and simply articulates the College offer.
  5. Ensuring our data and systems are integrated to provide a seamless digital information process, and management for decision making reporting capability.
  6. Considering the workforce implications of the proposed developments including training and development needs and different skill sets
  7. Identifying how best to integrate College and Federation partner systems and services to support greater synergistic collaborative working
  8. Optimally delivering our content and services in a multi device, multi-channel and multi context environment, taking due account of current platforms and the need to align with developments in Federation.
