The Government of Malta has been consulting on its National Alcohol Policy which identifies general measures addressed to the entire population as well as measures targeting young people.

The repsonse from Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP) outlines the policy context in Scotland; provides evidence of action on the WHO's three best buys of price, availability, and marketing in Scotland; and, in particular, outlines Scotland's success in lowering the drink driving limit and the positive outcomes this has produced.

SHAAP calls on the government of Malta to consider this evidence-base when developing and implementing their National Alcohol Policy.
