Vacancy with:
MRCP(UK)

The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK seeks to appoint an International Associate Medical Director to lead the expansion of the MRCP(UK) Diploma and Specialty Certificate Examinations and increase their strength and standing worldwide as standards of excellence in internal medicine.

The successful applicant will be joining at a significant point in time for international development. Growth from the international market place has increased steadily over the last 5 years and in 2013 approximately half of all candidates sitting the MRCP(UK) sat in an international centre. In July 2014, in recognition of this expanding international demand the MRCP(UK) Management Board supported an outline international development strategy and a vigorously proactive approach to developing the international profile of MRCP(UK).

The International Associate Medical Director will have responsibility for building relationships with senior members of the international medical community to develop opportunities and partnerships in countries where the MRCP(UK) and the Specialty Certificate Examinations are and could be delivered, and with existing PACES hosts to ensure that PACES delivery is of the highest standard internationally. The post holder will advise the MRCP(UK) Management Board on its international strategy, and work with the three colleges of the Federation, and their International Departments, to build on existing international relationships.

The appointee will be a Fellow of one of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, an experienced PACES examiner, in current practice in a medical specialty and a physician of considerable standing. The role will require the individual to undertake international visits, particularly to PACES centres and to support the International MRCP(UK) Central Office team in London.

The appointee’s employer will be reimbursed for the equivalent of one PA per week.

Applicants should submit a brief outline of their professional training, together with a resume of their commitment to medical education and training, and their specific expertise in the MRCP(UK) Diploma and Speciality Certificate Examinations with details of two referees.
