Who we are

The Trainees and Members’ Committee is a representative Committee of elected Trainees and Members (post-MRCP(UK)), Associates (pre-MRCP(UK) and e-Associates (medical students and Foundation Doctors) of the RCPE. Our principal concern is to provide support for Trainees and to ensure that the views of Trainees are represented in all RCPE discussions and in external related discussions, such as within the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB).

What we do

Services provided by the Trainees and Members’ Committee include –

  • a representative forum in which to raise and discuss issues of importance to Trainees (Trainees and Members’ Committee members are also represented on RCPE Council, the majority of RCPE Committees and on the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians’ Training Board (JRCPTB))

In addition to providing general information of use to all Trainees, the Trainees and Members’ Committee has a dedicated web page on the secure Fellows and Members’ area of the website which features a range of information of interest to Trainees who are members of the RCPE.

In parallel to our educational and representative activities, the T&MC also holds an annual Christmas Charity Lecture.

Certificates for Doctors Involved in Supporting MRCP (UK) Exams

The RCPE Trainees & Members’ Committee has initiated the provision of certificates for doctors involved in supporting the MRCP(UK) examination. The certificates can be awarded to MRCP(UK) PACES Co-ordinators (those taking a lead role in the preparation and organisation of a PACES examination) and MRCP(UK) Teaching Co-ordinators (those delivering detailed and structured programmes of teaching specifically for the MRCP(UK).

The certificates recognise a commitment in the workplace that is otherwise difficult to capture on a CV and should be a boost to anyone currently involved in MRCP (UK) examination support or teaching, and who may wish to strengthen the educational/management elements of their CV.

Academy Trainee Doctors' Group

The RCPE is represented on, and actively involved in, the Academy Trainee Doctors' Group (ATDG).

Please visit the ATDG website for further information regarding their activities.
