Emeritus Professor Robert Peter Clarkson Barclay, FRCP Edin Born: 15/04/1941 Born in the Scottish Borders he went to school in Hawick then qualified in Medicine at Edinburgh University. All his junior hospital posts were in Scotland Leith, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow and from the earliest days his sights were set on Paediatrics. His first papers were on Intragastric Feeding in the Newborn, DC Cardioversion in Congenital Atrial Flutter, Cystic Fibrosis, Hodgkins Disease and Vitamin D Resistant Rickets. The main part of a long and distinguished career in Child Care was spent in Lanarkshire. The peak of that career was his appointment to the Chair in Paediatrics.
