Background: The aim of this review is to bring forward measures which will:

  • build on measures in current licensing law to help address the concerns surrounding alcohol consumption;
  • contribute towards a reduction in alcohol related harm;
  • help make the licensed trade offering more sustainable and attractive to tourists; and
  • recognise the role licensed premises have in their local community as places to socialise and provide employment.

This consultation sought views and comments from all interested individuals and organisations to ensure that any final decisions made are well-informed, fair and effective.
