Background: The purpose of this consultation paper is to seek views on the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety’s proposals for strengthening sanctions against retailers who sell tobacco products to children and young people under 18 years of age. The aim is to reduce smoking prevalence amongst children and young people by reducing the availability of tobacco products to this group.
