Background: Following the review of the Drugs and Alcohol Strategies and the Joint Implementation Model in 2005, a New Strategic Direction for Alcohol and Drugs has been developed. The document outlines proposals for a five-year plan with the the overall aim of reducing the level of alcohol and drug related harm in Northern Ireland.
