Rab and his friends. Edinburgh, 1857. 4o. The autograph MS of the famous Scottish idyll first published in the "Horae Subsecivae" in 1858. The MS was offered for sale by Sotheby 's in July 1906, and a fund was started at the instigation of Professor Osler of Oxford for the purpose of obtaining the MS for Edinburgh. The money was raised by donations from the Fellows of the College, and the MS was formally prresented on December 18th 1906.
