Continuing Professional Development

Male doctor examining patient. ©BananastockThe Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK runs a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scheme for all post-training physicians.

Implementation of appraisal and the impending revalidation have increased the spotlight on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as an important means for physicians to demonstrate their commitment to keeping themselves up to date in their areas of clinical practice. In its 6th year the Federation CPD Scheme continues to develop, to help physicians demonstrate that they meet these requirements. The CPD year runs from 1st April until 31st March, and currently we are in the 2009/2010 CPD year.
