The College has backed a new publication outlining research expectations and aspirations for the NHS in England. There is a particular focus on NHS Trusts, clinicians, patients, and health researchers.

The document states that clinicians are experiencing a lack of protected time for patient-facing research, and that high quality research is everybody's responsibility in the NHS. It sets out expectations and aspirations to improve the quality of research and take advantage of the UK's position as one of the best places in the world to undertake clinical research.
