Northern Ireland Department of Health consultation on draft regulations to restrict smoking in private vehicles carrying children.

The Smoke-free (Private Vehicles) Regulations will extend the existing smoke-free legislation by setting out the circumstances in which private vehicles must be smoke-free.  This follows similar legislation in other parts of the UK.

The College supports regulations to ban smoking in cars where under 18's are present due to the strong evidence of the dangers of second hand smoke exposure and passive smoking.
