Abstract

Aspirin  (acetylsalicylic  acid)  is  one  of  the  most  commonly  used  drugs today.  Initially used as a potent analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic agent, its uses have expanded considerably over the years, and new therapeutic indications are  still  being  researched.  This  review  looks  briefly  at  the  established  uses  and outlines some of the developing areas.
