On 30 June, the College held an Extraordinary Meeting in order for Fellows to receive a full and clear explanation of the facts surrounding the recent resignation of the President. Extraordinary Meetings have been held in person in the College for the past 300 years, but due to the COVID-19 restrictions, this meeting was held virtually. Thank you to those who were able to join us.

Following the meeting, Council agreed to set up an Independent Review into the events and circumstances reported at the Extraordinary Meeting and is keen that the review can be started imminently and undertaken as quickly as possible.

There were many questions submitted before, during and after the Extraordinary Meeting. All of the questions that were submitted have been considered by Council and will be an integral part of the review. All the questions that can be answered now will be made available to those who registered to attend the meeting. Some of the questions will need to await answers that will come from the Independent Review and will be provided once the review has taken place.

Council anticipates that the review will provide us with the independent assessment of recent events that is required, enabling us to learn lessons and move forward together.
